We are thrilled to announce that Meadfleet were awarded the Landscape Institute’s Landscape Legacy Award in November 2022 for Sustainable Open Space Management. The award celebrates Meadfleet’s work in creating a sustainable legacy throughout our business and across our nationwide portfolio both in the work we do to provide biodiverse open spaces and via community engagement and educational projects.

In this year’s awards there were a record breaking 225 entrants and a panel of 93 judges made the difficult decision to select the best 24 entries. The category of ‘Landscape Legacy’ celebrates a person, group or organisation committed to leaving a lasting landscape legacy to the world. Below is one of the judges’ comments:

The Landscape Institute awards are open to submissions from the UK and overseas and are presented to ‘individuals and organisations whose vision and practice leads the way in the landscape profession’.
Presented by botanist and TV presenter James Wong with keynote speeches from Acting President Noel Farrer, Immediate Past President Jane Finlay and LI’s Chief Executive, Sue Morgan, the awards showcased the best in sustainable and resilient design.
“The UK Government published its long-awaited Levelling Up White Paper which reflected that landscapes, green spaces and the built environment will be instrumental to levelling up the country,” said Sue Morgan, Landscape Institute’s CEO. “The awards this year celebrate landscape architects across the globe who are implementing this holistic vision. Winners, particularly in Scotland, this year highlight how landscaping with community and sustainability in mind are now becoming commonplace to ensure the greater resilience of projects.”

Meadfleet employ experienced regional managers to proactively manage open spaces and respond to customer queries. As voluntary members of The Property Ombudsman Scheme, we offer our customers access to free, independent redress should this be required.
At Meadfleet we’re passionate about keeping open spaces safe and attractive and also believe it’s important to manage and enhance areas for the benefit of wildlife.
