Our campaign for biodiversity
During the first year of our bee-friendly campaign to provide sustainable food sources and habitat for bees, Meadfleet donated over 700 bee hotels to customers, schools, resident groups and community associations with a goal to give away 2000 during the five-year campaign. Currently in our fifth year, Meadfleet are well on track to achieve our target with 1800 donations so far and 200 to go!
Supporting local communities
An important asset in facilitating our bee hotel donations this year has been the Wildlife and Birdcare (WBC) Nature Recovery Project. The Wildlife and Birdcare Nature Recovery Project provides work opportunities and employment to those with learning disabilities and diverse needs, including creating products and habitats for nature. Their mission is to create sustainable, environmentally friendly, and biodiverse environments under the ethos of Biodiversity Net Gain, whilst increasing the 22% percentage of those with diverse needs under paid employment in the UK.
Creating spaces for nature
Valuing the importance of their vision, Meadfleet wished to support WBC through the purchasing of their bee hotels for this year of our campaign. The significant loss of natural bee-friendly habitat means that these hotels will offer additional refuge and nesting resources for our solitary bee species.

We are happy to work with residents groups and positively encourage the creation of these on the developments we are involved with. We believe this opens an effective two-way dialogue between homeowners and ourselves.
