In March, Meadfleet had the pleasure of visiting Richardson Endowed Primary School to conduct a wildlife talk and planting session. The day kicked off with an assembly where our Ecology and Conservation Manager Paul Cassidy conducted a wildlife talk. Paul’s presentation sparked excitement among the children about the wildlife inhabiting their local open spaces. After the talk, we ventured outdoors for planting activities alongside the children’s school council, our Regional Manager Andre Pleasance, and Assistant Ecologist Grace Brady.
Supporting local communities
Meadfleet donated planters, wildflower seed, bee hotels and an array of sensory plants and herbs to promote biodiversity, encourage environmental stewardship amongst the children and improve the school grounds. Equipped with gloves and tools, pupils enthusiastically participated in planting, transforming the fenced-off area into a vibrant sensory garden. We sowed wildflower seed with hopes that once established, it will provide a colourful habitat to support pollinators and enhance the biodiversity of the area.

We aspire for this project to not only enhance the school visually and benefit wildlife, but also to serve as an outdoor learning space, encouraging a love for nature and a desire to protect it. We look forward to seeing the garden flourish and remain committed to educating and inspiring the next generation through our Meadfleet Academy.
