At Meadfleet, we believe that managing open spaces is about much more than maintaining grass, trees and landscaped areas. It is about creating places that people value, supporting communities, and helping residents feel connected to the spaces around them.
Recently, we were honoured to help deliver a particularly meaningful project at a residential development in Leicestershire following a request from a resident who wished to create a space in memory of their son.
Bringing a Vision to Life
The resident approached us with the idea of creating a peaceful area where family, friends and members of the community could pause, reflect and remember a loved one.
Recognising the significance of the request, Meadfleet worked alongside Davidsons Homes to fully fund the project and bring the vision to life.
The completed scheme includes a memorial bench, a newly planted cherry tree and a carefully designed flower bed, creating an attractive and tranquil feature within the development’s open space.
A Partnership Approach
Projects like this demonstrate the value of collaboration between residents, developers and long-term open space managers.
Working closely with Davidsons Homes, Meadfleet coordinated the project from concept through to completion. The installation was overseen by Regional Manager Kyle Chaplin, supported by our maintenance contractors, who worked hard to create a fitting and lasting tribute.
The result is a welcoming space that not only serves as a memorial but also enhances the wider landscape for everyone who lives on and visits the development.
