Bug Hotel Event Brings Residents Together

A recent community event at a Meadfleet managed development in Sussex was a fantastic success, bringing residents of all ages together for a shared purpose and supporting local wildlife.

We were delighted to contribute to the day by donating refreshments and Easter treats, including Easter eggs for the children. We also provided seeds and notebooks, giving the local children the opportunity to learn more about nature and document their discoveries.

A key highlight of the event was the construction of a large scale bug hotel. Residents were fully involved, enthusiastically gathering materials such as roof tiles, bricks, and bamboo to help create a welcoming habitat for invertebrates insects, spiders, snails etc. The collaborative effort was inspiring, showcasing the community’s commitment to enhancing biodiversity in the area.

Meadfleet is proud to support initiatives like this. Whether it’s providing suitable materials, offering guidance on construction, or helping to promote community events with contributions such as refreshments, we are always keen to get involved.

We’re grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the day so special. Events like these highlight the power of community collaboration and the positive impact we can have on our local environment when we work together.
