We were delighted recently to be introduced by Keepmoat Homes to the New Beginnings NHS service in Doncaster. New Beginnings is part of Aspire Drug and Alcohol Service, and provides specialist rehabilitation and detox care and treatment for people living with substance problems.
We were pleased to donate some gardening equipment to the charity after hearing of their allotment initiative which forms part of their structured day programme, encouraging users into gardening as part of a range of services aimed at supporting recovery.
David King, Managing Director of Meadfleet commented:
“We were delighted to supply some much needed gardening equipment to the New Beginnings service in Doncaster. Along with spades and shovels we also provided some of bee hotels and pollinator friendly seeds for use in their gardens. The charity provides a vital service to people seeking to achieve a drug and alchohol free lifestyle. It was great to visit the facility and learn more about their holistic approach to recovery. With nature and gardening providing positive therapeutic benefits it’s fantastic to see this is one of the key elements of their service”
During the visit our Managing Director, David King FCCA, Operations Manager, Emlyn Craven, and Relationship Manager, Lucy Gibson were shown the impressive facilities and gained an insight into the important work of the charity.
Through our community fund, Meadfleet donate to a range of initiatives each year. If you would like to nominate a good cause please click here.
